Take 5-10 minutes to declutter your hangers.
First, gather all of the unused hangers in your home. Look for them in bedroom closets, hall closets and laundry room.
Separate these excess hangers putting the wire hangers in one pile, the store hangers in another pile and the hangers to save in a third pile. Throw away any broken or bent hangers.
Take the pile of good hangers and hit your closets. Replace and wire or store hangers with the good hangers.
Wire hangers can be taken back to your dry cleaners. Store hangers may be donated to thrift stores. Check before you take them. Goodwill does not take hangers.
Planning a yard sale? Use your extra hangers to hang up the clothes for sale. When someone purchases the item, include the hanger.
Remember to just say no when you are asked if you want the hanger next time you purchase clothes.
